Why not dedicate the song not just to soldiers, but to all people who suffered from the Vietnam War, which was the whole world? One of the reasons why we have such wars is the constant glorification of the military as a special class in the US. If you join the military for that status, you’re on an ego trip. If you worship these people, you’re brainwashed. EVERY person in the world does something important. If garbagemen didn’t pick up the trash, we’d all be in bed sick, not free.

@Nhtaol it was a major court marshal offence, but the army had to let all of them off with it because they needed the manpower, with more and more people ignoring and protesting the draft, what do you do when you need manpower and 1/5th of your force is heavily sedated on heroin, cannabis and LSD, You can either takeaway that 5th you desperatley need or overlook it, its controversial but I think they made the right choice on it, there would of been a lot lower morale and higher casualties
